What is a fanlisting? According to TFL.org, 'A fanlisting is simply an online listing of fans of a subject, such as a TV show, actor, or musician, that is created by an individual and open for fans from around the world to join. There are no costs, and the only requirements to join a fanlisting are your name and country. Fanlistings do not have to be large sites (although some are) - they are just a place where you can have your name listed along with other fans of the same subject. Rick O'Connell is the central protagonist of the film. He served in the French Foreign Legion before becoming an adventurer. Evelyn and her brother Jonathan, save him from being hanged early in the movie so that he can lead them to the lost city of Hamunaptra. A subplot throughout the film is the growing romance between Rick and Evelyn. Rick provides much of the action of the film, culminating in his killing of Imhotep.

evelyn carnahan

Evie Carnahan is another protagonist, she is a clever, intelligent, but clumsy Egyptologist in Cairo's Museum of Antiquities. She, along with Rick and her brother Jonathan travel to the lost city of Hamunaptra, where she hopes to find a rare ancient book. When some Americans find a book but not the golden book of Amun-Ra but in fact the Book of the Dead which gives life, Evy steals the book from the American egyptologist who was sleeping and reads a page of it which unintentionally resurrects Imhotep. Imhotep wants to use her body to resurrect his long-dead lover, and he takes her captive. Upon being rescued, she reads a page from the book of Amon-Ra, rendering Imhotep mortal. Rick then pierces Imhotep in the stomach. While he goes down into the water, he returns to mummy form, and Evie translates Imhotep's last words:

"Death is only the beginning."

Rick promises to take Evelyn Carnahan and her brother Jonathan Carnahan to Hamunaptra, the city of the dead, and back again. However, Evelyn reads from the book of the dead and unleashes the immortal spirit of Imhotep - once a High Priest to the god-kings of Egypt, now resurrected in his mummified form. Rick then decides to take a modicum of responsibility for the situation and help them {mostly for Evelyn who Rick fell in love with} However Evy is eventually captured. Rick then goes to rescue her and gets in a fight. He kills many mummies then finally fights Imhotep. After Evy makes Imhotep mortal, Rick impales Imhotep, killing him. They then have to escape as the building collapses. The movie closes with them riding off on camels with gold unknowingly hanging in the saddle bag and Evelyn in Ricks love and protection.

By The Mummy Returns Rick and Evelyn are married and have a son, named Alex.
