What is a fanlisting? According to TFL.org, 'A fanlisting is simply an online listing of fans of a subject, such as a TV show, actor, or musician, that is created by an individual and open for fans from around the world to join. There are no costs, and the only requirements to join a fanlisting are your name and country. Fanlistings do not have to be large sites (although some are) - they are just a place where you can have your name listed along with other fans of the same subject. TheFanlistings.org is the original (but not official) web directory for fanlistings, dedicated to uniting the fans.'
overlord
Overlord is an action-adventure game in which the player takes the role of an Overlord with a goal to regain power. The game was released in North America on June 26, 2007 on both the PC and Xbox 360.
The game centres around controlling the Overlord and an army of goblin-like minions simultaneously to traverse the 3D gameworld and defeat the heroes who slew the Overlord's predecessor.
There are four minion races, each represented by a colour and have different abilities. Browns are melee fighters, blues can revive defeated minions and swim, reds throw fireballs at enemies, can put out fires and are immune to fire attacks, and greens backstab enemies and can clear poisonous gas and plants. Minions are summoned from the spawning pits found scattered throughout the game. The player needs to pay life-force, which can be gained by killing creatures, like sheep or large bugs, to summon minions. At the start of the game only five minions can be summoned at once, as the game progresses this increases to a maximum of fifty. In addition to controlling minions, the player can sacrifice them at altars of blood and magic to restore the Overlord's health or mana. And once a forge is acquired, they can be used to imbue weapons and armor to increase the overlord's abilities.
The player begins in an old ruined tower that has been plundered of its magical artifacts and acts as a central hub for the player. As the stolen tower objects are recovered, new rooms and spells become available for use, and the Overlord's maximum health and mana increase. The player can customize the tower with a variety of visual items such as banners and statues. Armour and weapons can be purchased or improved in the forge. Most defeated enemy types appear as opponents in the dungeon, an arena where the Overlord can fight them again (excluding bosses such as heroes and one-of-a-kind beasts).
While the game assumes that the Overlord is evil, it also tracks how corrupt the Overlord is in accomplishing his goals. Slaughtering otherwise inoffensive townsfolk, stealing gold and other activities increases the corruption level, whereas acts of kindness reduce the level. The corruption level changes the way towns folk treat the Overlord and will also change his appearance, a system similar to Fable, Black & White and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. As corruption increases, the Overlord's armour will become more devilish with horns protruding out of the back, shoulders, elbows and knees. The corruption level also determines which game ending the player receives and which high level spells they can cast.
The game offers several multiplayer modes. Slaughter, where two Overlords face each other in a head to head combat, with possibly hundreds of minions at once, Survival, where two Overlords team up against large armies of enemies, and final mode is Pillage, where two Overlords and their minions compete to see who can pillage and plunder the most gold in a selected amount of time. The Xbox 360 version provides voice chat over Xbox Live.

The game begins where Gnarl and the Brown Fighter minions awaken the Overlord from his tomb. From here they suit him in his armour and reclaim his old now dilapidated Tower ready to re conquer the lands, presumably having been killed previously by heroes. The Overlord first has to turn his eye to the Mellow Hills, where the Halflings and their leader Melvin Underbelly are using human occupants of the town Spree for slave labour and the Red Fire minions as a heat source. After storming the Halfling Homes and Kitchen slaying Melvin and reclaiming the Red minions and the village of Spree (at the peasants’ delight or disgust depending on certain actions) the Overlord has multiple paths to choose. Still in the Mellow Hills, Castle Spree has come under attack by Jewel, the Thieving Hero and her bandits. After flushing out the invaders, the castle mistress Rose offers her service to the Overlord.
At Evernight Forest, the roots of a grand tree cover home of the Elves, who are nearly extinct after being ransacked by the Dwarves, where the Elven hero Oberon Greenhaze sleeps. Upon gaining command over the Green Assassin minions Oberon is slain yet the Elves' sacred statue has been stolen by the Dwarves at Jewel’s anger who wanted to steal it for herself.
At Heaven’s Peak where Rose had left, the town under the command of Sir William the Black is overrun by zombies and demons. Here the Overlord gains command of the Blue Healer minions. At the town’s Inn, it is discovered the Sir William had fallen for a Succubus, thus calling off his wedding to Rose’s sister Velvet. Killing Sir William in Angelis Keep, now single Velvet offers her services to the Overlord where he must choose between her and Rose.
The Overlord and Gnarl. With full command of the Brown, Green, Red and Blue minions, the Overlord now turns to the Golden Hills, home of the Dwarves and their leader Goldo Golderson, who has become overly greedy for gold and power. Here the Overlord stumbles upon even more Elves who claim the last of their women are being held in the Royal Halls of the Dwarven Keep. Meanwhile at the Dwarf construction site Gnarl recommends the Overlord stash a few minions inside the Elf sacred statue and allow Jewel to take it in order to find her homeland, the Ruborian Desert. Back at the Royal Halls where Goldo is defeated the Overlord can either take his stash of gold or free the remaining Elf women before the halls collapse. The Ruborian desert is found where Jewel is captured and interrogated however this comes at the cost of an enraged Kahn the Warrior who is very protective of Jewel, where the Overlord now has to save Spree and Heaven’s Peak from his wrath. After finally conquering all the land, back at the tower the minions bow down to the true previous Overlord who has taken form inside the Wizard, originally father of Rose and Velvet who lays claim to the title of Overlord. The Old Overlord (as he is described via the game's mission status) tells you that you were the EIGHTH hero who came to slay him; apparently, you fell from a great height in the Tower and were left for dead by your companions while they looted and ransacked the Tower. The Old Overlord had you put in the sarcophagus that you awoke from at the beginning of the game to heal your wounds magically in order to groom you as a 'temporary' Overlord. The Overlord now has to reclaim control on his minions who are now against him. During battle with the Wizard it appears he’s responsible for the corruption of the other six heroes. Upon the Wizard’s death the Overlord reclaims his tower and control over the minions. Depending on actions and choices throughout the story, the player will receive one of multiple endings.

The Overlord - The Overlord is the game's silent protagonist, his motivations and actions are solely in the hands of the player. The game opens with the Overlord's abrupt awakening by his tiny gremlin-like minions. From there, his minions shove him into armour, name him successor to the previous Overlord, and task him with slaying his predecessor's murderers, the seven heroes. Despite recalling nothing of his past, the protagonist quickly sets out to rid the world of the now corrupt heroes and rebuild his power base. He holds sway over minions and can easily command them to sacrifice themselves at his whim. Complementing this power, he also can wield various weapons such as axes, swords, and maces. In a pinch, the Overlord may also rely on a limited access to magic as well.
Gnarl - Gnarl is the aged minion who acts as an adviser and informant by relaying information through the Tower Heart. After recovering the Tower Heart from a pumpkin patch, Gnarl stations himself outside a passageway and supposedly works to coordinate the minions and other servants, and constantly reminds the Overlord that "There are evil deeds that need doing".
Rose - Rose is the first potential mistress the player meets and must be rescued in order for the game to progress. When the protagonist encounters her, she and several peasants have fled to Castle Spree from the undead plaguing Heaven's Peak. Unfortunately, bandits from the Ruborian desert attacked the castle forcing her to seek refuge inside a cell, thus she will not leave with him until after the thieves are dead and her luggage is recovered. Strong-willed and cheery, Rose dresses conservatively in a medieval style and appears as a prim and proper young lady. Interesting, she does not recoil in fear at the minions, but rather can be seen disciplining them. If chosen over her sister, she upgrades the Overlord's Brown minions for free and the Blues at a modest cost.
Velvet - Velvet is the second and final mistress candidate. The protagonist encounters her within Angelis Keep after defeating the perverted Paladin. Although she was originally set to marry Sir William, she was passed over for the charms of the succubi inhabiting the area. Even with their history, she takes news of his death with surprising nonchalance. She wastes nary a moment before using her obvious assets to tempt the Overlord. Although she is Rose's younger sister, Velvet dresses far more provocatively in a low cut dress. She is also far more shallow and greedy than her older sister requiring payment for both the Red and Green minion upgrades she offers. She will often be heard asking the protagonist to bring her back presents and gold. Unlike her sister, Velvet's evil leanings are far more readily apparent.
The Jester - Whenever the Overlord steps onto the main floor of his tower, the jester will follow him, spewing titles the player has earned by fulfilling certain requirements and/or quests such as "Loyal Lord", "Servant Snatcher", "Bar Room Brawler" and "Merciful Quietner of the Grumbling Stomachs". He also acts as a Commentator in the Dungeon. Even though it isn't flat out mentioned at the end, a cutscene during the ending suggests that the Jester becomes possessed by the spirit of the Old Overlord that you just defeated, which could imply a sequel.
Giblet - Starts out as an ordinary brown minion who helps carry the tower heart (Gnarl criticizes him by name). After the player obtains a smelter, Giblet is promoted to Forge Master. He is also responsible for added comments that are written poorly as captions to the pictures on pages 3 and 4 of the instruction manuel (Gnarl adds a P. S. at the end of page 4 that apologizes for the corruption of the notes, stating that Giblet was found with inky claws and will be suitably punished). The seven heroes are the Overlord's main antagonists. All were good and noble people until they became heroes, allowing praise of their good deeds by the wizard to corrupt their minds. They each began to take on a trait representing one of the seven deadly sins.
Melvin Underbelly – Melvin is the first of the seven heroes the player meets. He is the boss of the halflings and since he seems to like singing it's possible that he is a bard . He was originally small for a halfling but after being convinced by the Wizard that after becoming a hero he could have all the food he wanted he started eating large amounts, causing him to grow taller than a normal human and become morbidly obese. Now he represents the sin of gluttony. Melvin wears a gold crown and uses a gold fork to attack the player.
Sir William the Black – Representing the sin of lust, Sir William the Paladin was convinced by the Wizard, who saw that he was interested in his daughter Velvet, to give up his days of protecting the weak from evil and is now interested exclusively in sensual pleasures. His interests now primarily range from decadent parties to sexual liaisons, even as a plague ravages his city. To satisfy his needs it would appear that he had a cult summon a Succubus Queen to please him. Sir William is the ruler of the city of Heaven's Peak.
Oberon Greenhaze – Oberon represents the sin of sloth. The elf Oberon fell into a deep sleep after the Wizard convinced him that a hero needs rest. When the Dwarves invaded Evernight he would not awaken, so the forest merged Oberon with a tree. This tree caused his nightmares to come to life, defeating the dwarves but unfortunately killing some elves. However his dreams now haunt the forest around him. The tree also seals the entrance to the Golden Hills to prevent another Dwarven invasion. Oberon may be an allusion to the character of the same name from Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. The haunting nightmares and even the name of the forest its self may also be a reference to the name of the play.
Goldo Golderson – Goldo, dwarven king, and ruler of the Golden Hills, represents the sin of greed. The Wizard told Goldo that he could have all the gold he ever wanted since no one would deny him as a hero and has let his desire for wealth take over all other aspects of his life. His greed goes as far as to retrieve the expensive wedding gift he gave to Sir William after his wedding was called off. He also invaded the Evernight to kidnap the Elves, so that he could force them to mine for more gold.
Jewel the Thieving Hero – Representing the sin of envy, Jewel the thief had everything, but after the Wizard convinced her that what she wanted was what others had, she is now interested only in stealing others' possessions. She leads a group of Ruborian thieves and is loved by Kahn.
Kahn the Warrior – Representing the sin of wrath, Kahn is quick to anger and is very protective of Jewel, which at times annoys her. He cares only about protecting Jewel and destroying anything that angers him. He has control over beholders. Kahn wears a full black/grey suit of armor and wields an enormous morning star/flail.
The Wizard – Representing the sin of pride, the Wizard was the leader of the other Heroes and is the final hero the player meets, whom is discovered to have been possessed by the current Overlord's predecessor. He is responsible for the corruption of the other heroes by helping their achievements corrupt their minds.
During then game you will also be tempted by each of the deadly sins while trying to kill their corresponding heroes. Your choices will influence your corruption level and will alter small areas of the game. An example of this is when you are tempted by the sin of lust while choosing your mistress during the quest "Find Rose's wayward sister Velvet", by choosing Rose you are remaining faithful and uncorrupted but by choosing Velvet you are giving into lust and your corruption level will increase accordingly.Taken from Wikipedia
